Dollar Spot Likes October

It seems like we are just starting to recover from a summer of heat, humidity and disease.  Now, with fall here we would expect some relief.  However, relatively warm temperatures combined with humidity is triggering outbreaks of dollar spot.  Dollar spot can be quite active and in many cases require a fungicide treatment.  So don't let down your guard, keep checking your turf for signs of dollar spot in the coming weeks.

Additionally clean up any dollar spot symptoms/scars that might be present going into winter.  This is especially true on putting greens.  These unhealed dollar spot scars serve as an inoculum source for the following spring.
