This week fog is present in many areas of the country.  Fog is water droplets suspended close to the earth’s surface.  Fog often forms next to a local body of water, which is the major reason fog is different than a “cloud”.

From a predictive standpoint fog forms generally when the difference between the temperature and dew point is less than 4 degrees Fahrenheit.  Given the high level of moisture present the turf is often wet for a considerable time enhancing the disease severity of foliar pathogens     Under foggy conditions, red thread and Microdochium patch could become very damaging at this time.
