Women in Golf Month: coming together to celebrate passion, diversity and inclusion

After the success of the women volunteer team at the 2021 U.S. Women’s Open, Syngenta was eager to assemble a new group of women to support the 77th U.S. Women’s Open. Kimberly Gard, territory manager for Syngenta, worked in partnership with David Fruchte, director of agronomy at Pine Needles Lodge & Golf Club, to bring together more than 30 women from across the country to prepare for the tournament.

Their participation, passion and energy ensured players had optimal course conditions during the tournament and brought attention to the careers the golf industry can offer women. We hope the accomplishments of these women inspires women of all ages to learn more about the turf industry.

Check out the video below and other #WomenInTurf videos captured by GCSAA TV during the event. Thank you to all the volunteers who created superb conditions for the tournament!

Ladies Leading Turf

In an industry where less than 1.5% of superintendents are women, it’s important to offer opportunities for them to network and discuss important issues. Earlier this year, Syngenta hosted the fifth Ladies Leading Turf event at the GCSAA Conference and Trade Show, in partnership with the GCSAA.

We’re thrilled with the momentum we’ve seen from this event and Syngenta is proud to provide this opportunity for women to learn together. We hope to see more professionals of all genders attend to be allies for each other and make the turf industry more diverse and inclusive!
