The Syngenta Business Institute (SBI) is an innovative professional business development program for superintendents. For ten years, Syngenta has partnered with the Wake Forest University School of Business, which is renowned for its MBA executive business program and first-class instructors, to host this three-day program. Syngenta collaborates with The Ohio State University to support The Ohio Program, which provides educational and hands on training to the upcoming generation of golf course superintendents. The program is well known within the industry as a coveted international internship program in horticulture, agriculture and turfgrass. For more than 15 years, Syngenta has been partnering with The Ohio State to help students participate in the internship program and attend key industry events.
Syngenta is honored to partner with the Wee One Foundation, which helps golf course superintendents and their families when medical needs arise. The Wee One Foundation was developed to assist golf course management professionals (or their dependents) who are without comprehensive insurance or adequate financial resources to cover medical expenses.Syngenta supports the Wee One Foundation through various initiatives.
Syngenta is proud of its long-standing support of the National Golf Course Owners Association (NGCOA). Owners and operators of golf courses look to the National Golf Course Owners Association as a valuable source for information and education, and as an advocate for their best interests. Syngenta works closely with the NGCOA to further that mission, in part by sponsoring its Multi-Course and Resort Operators Retreat.
Golf course superintendents have a complex and demanding job that requires long hours, skill and dedication. Syngenta is committed to growing the game of golf through its sponsorship of the World Golf Foundation and its mission to develop and support initiatives that positively impact lives through the game of golf and its traditional values. Through programs like The First Tee and GOLF 20/20, the World Golf Foundation has initiatives that work together to support the growth of the game among youth, women and minorities, while also fostering diversity within the golf industry.
Syngenta supports the golf industry as a whole, including lobbying efforts that help legislators understand golf's importance to the economy. WE ARE GOLF was formed in part because it had become clear the industry was misunderstood by elected officials. By focusing on the nearly two million Americans whose livelihoods are tied to golf, WE ARE GOLF has leveled the playing field for the thousands of small businesses that make up the industry. As a result, golf is no longer being excluded from important legislation.
Operation Pollinator provides turf professionals tools and information to successfully establish and manage attractive wildflower resources that are crucial for bees and pollinating insects, while enhancing the visual appearance of the turf area and the overall experience. Syngenta is also providing communication tools so personnel within a turf management business can promote their positive action for pollinators to their customers as well as their local community.
Syngenta supports efforts that promote the safe use of pesticides in green spaces. As such, its partnership with Responsible Industry for a Sound Environment (RISE) furthers that goal. As the national trade association representing manufacturers, formulators, distributors and other industry leaders involved with specialty pesticides, RISE gives you the facts about pests and the threats they pose to our health and safety. RISE promotes the safe use of pesticides to control pests and invasive species that are detrimental to our health and our environment.
Syngenta is a member of Turfgrass Producers International (TPI) and regularly exhibits at the organization's summer conference. As the only worldwide association committed to the advancement of the turfgrass sod industry, TPI's desire to help create beautiful green spaces matches our own aspirations. Syngenta is proud of its long-standing support of OAN and its commitment to the profitability and success of Oregon’s nursery and greenhouse industry. Each year OAN produces Farwest, the largest green industry show in the west, which draws more than 6,000 visitors and 400 exhibitors. NCNLA is committed to the welfare of North Carolina's green industry, with emphasis on the nursery and landscape industry. For the past 20 years, Syngenta has supported and been a member of the NCNLA. As part of this commitment, Syngenta exhibits at the Green & Growin’ trade show every January.
